Grundfos Pumps Manufacturing, Corp. announced on October 26, 2007 that U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California had entered a preliminary injunction order prohibiting Laing Thermotech, Inc. from further manufacturing, importing, using, selling, and/or offering for sale the AUTOCIRC2 waterpump and bypass valve system in the United States for the duration of the patent infringement lawsuit.
The suit charges Laing Thermotech, Inc. with infringement of United States Patent Nos. 7,073,528 and 6,536,464. Grundfos’ trial counsel in the matter is McAndrews, Held & Malloy. The patented technology relates to water pumps and bypass valves so as to bypass cold or tepid water away from the associated fixture until it reaches the desired temperature.
